This matters. We are meant to be lifelong learners. Instead, we get caught up in the dailyness of our lives. Thanks for sharing this!

I love this suggestion from Rachel Naomi Remen:

“Life offers its wisdom generously.

Everything teaches. Not everyone learns.

Life asks of us the same thing we have been asked in every class: "Stay awake." "Pay attention."

But paying attention is no simple matter. It requires us not to be distracted by expectations, past experiences, labels, and masks.

It asks that we not jump to early conclusions and that we remain open to surprise.”

An adage that I love, that we fly to happiness on the wings of wisdom and compassion, could also be understood to touch on the importance of lifelong learning. While the knowledge we gain, and the health associated with it are significant, the wisdom to appreciate that there is always more to learn is priceless!

I couldn't agree more. There is always more to learn, to be curious about, and to explore. The more I know, the more I see how much I don't know!
