I am not an expert, but biggest take away I got from reading a book on feng shui was that electric devices emit energy and we are attracted to energy. They call to us. At the time it was specifically referencing the hold television holds over many of us. But it is true of all electronic devises - think TV, radio, computers, and phones. I have decided maybe even refrigerators, I mean really, don’t we go and open the door when we are bored? It recommended, hiding the TV from your sight. Since then I have. Currently, my small TV, hangs behind a picture. I haven’t moved the picture in over a year, and very infrequently before than. I gave up cable during the Kavanagh confirmation hearings. Life is better.

Great article! Your suggested “interrupts” are practical and compassionate. And thanks for the reference to Dr. Gabor Maté: his book on addictions looks very interesting.

Great article. It reads like poetry. This scrolling problem comes with cell phones, right? I am so glad I never got that condition. Does anyone here other than me remember when pay phones were the big thing, and before your flight or as soon as you landed, you got in line for a pay phone, for your call to the office, your client, or the limo picking you up?

Great information. I struggle with getting out teenage son to reduce his phone time. It really can become an addiction.
