Your writing really speaks to me. I started the habit of drinking water before coffee. I try to pair this with some quiet time - still working on that part. I am also trying to build the habit of eating a piece / cup of fruit as the first thing in my afternoon snack - work in progress on this. This really is so true - we are so conditioned that we need to make huge changes, see changes in our bodies and minds quickly. Weirdly, my habit of drinking water before coffee feels like progress. But when I think of eating fruit in the afternoon it doesn’t. I guess it’s because I still eat the unhealthy snacks too. But I know that if I try to just take away all of the unhealthy snacks at once it will trigger me and I will only eat more. So, I will keep working on my small habit of fruit as my first snack and go from there.
Back in 2016 I made a five minute new year’s resolution. I would play the piano, do some art and write for five minutes everyday. I was able to do this every single day for over five years. Then life overruled my resolution. Your article has inspired me to go back to my five minute resolutions.
Repetition. Brilliant.
Thank you. I need REPETITION. 🩵

Thanks, Doc! I’ve started reading again! It’s an old habit returned.

This….the switch in perspective, very relatable and allows acknowledging the very real lack of patience with being perfect and transformative.
🙏
Love it. You are super talented, creative and practical. Gret combination.
Thanks! I’m more than slightly addicted to figuring out how to speak readers in a unique way.
Really good.
Thank you.
